Vivek Narayan

I am a final year undergraduate Computer Science student at Indian Instituteof Technology Roorkee. I am quite intrigued by Computer Science as a whole and am particularly interested in Compilers, Networks, ML, DL and Computational Geometry. I am constantly on the lookout for opportunities where I can contribute and make a difference to the society.
I am quite excited about new technologies and love to get to the depths of their working and understand them. I am very curious and look to improve each coming day.
Apart from this, I am an avid reader and I also like travelling, playing Table tennis and Badminton. I thoroughly try to embody the spirit of the Latin quote "Disce quasi semper victurus vive quasi cras moriturus"(Learn as if you're always going to live; live as if you're going to die tomorrow.)

- July 2022: Recieved Reliance foundation Scholarship for year 2022.
- June 2022: Sad that we couldn't make the finals but happy that we tried our best and represented India in the International Arena
- April 2022: Glad to represent our country and institute at the pre-finals stage of IAEA Student Video Contest-2022.
- March 2022: Our abstract on the role of Nuclear Technology in addressing Climate Change has been selected for the next round of IAEA Student Video Contest-2022

Research
I'm interested in Deep Learning, Compilers, Networks and Computational Geometry. I have worked on projects based on Medical Imaging, Application Development, Web Development, Machine Learning, Operating Systems, Compilers and Computer Architecture. I have also completed a summer internship from May to July 2024 in Credit and Fraud Risk unit in American Express at Gurgaon.

Projects
We have developed an app based on NFC technology(Near Field Communication) for campus management using Flutter and Firebase. We also simulated Set-associative Cache with LRU Replacement Policy and Pipelined MIPS Processor.
I have also worked on a project based on Obstacle detection and avoiding car using Arduino.
